Indian Point / Mahone Bay Mussel Festival

Get ready for a great week-end of mussel tasting, wine sipping and all things mussels. This years Festival also boasts an expanded story-telling program in three locations around town.

The second annual Indian Point/Mahone Bay Mussel Festival will take place May 17h & 18th in Mahone Bay and at the Indian Point Mussel Farm in Indian Point.

Described as a spring celebration of local mussels and storytelling, the festival offers tours of the Indian Point Mussel farm, local wine and beer tasting, a myriad of mussel dishes served up in the local restaurants, music and lots of stories.

The festival aims to encourage the enjoyment of our various local and seasonal food traditions. “There is a long, rich history here of making a living from the sea, gathering together and telling stories. We want to celebrate that and keep in touch with it – even as it changes…the goal here is to eat, drink, listen to tall tales and marvel at mussels.
