Annual Great Scarecrow Festival & Antique Fair

The 2013 Scarecrow Festival is scheduled for October 4 to 6.

Watch this space for details as the date approaches.

As Chair of the 16th Annual Scarecrow Festival and Antique Fair I would like to thank all the many volunteers who gave time to make this festival such a success.  We are only a population of 900+, because of our talented and dedicated volunteers we put on festivals that are among the best in the province!

Mother Nature had other plans for the weather but that did not dampen the spirit of the thousands that came our and still come out to see the Scarecrows.   Come out and wander Mahone Bay, you will be amazed and delighted.  See some old favourites and of course new additions, look for the new Prince Harry and the Monster High Girls.  Scarecrows on display until October 14th!.

This event is representative of how much talent and spirit Mahone Bay has.  Thank you to the Mahone Bay and Area Chamber of Commerce for presenting this event.

The Scarecrows

Sixteen years of creations that amaze and amuse thousands of people each year are spread throughout the town of Mahone Bay.  Hundreds of Scarecrows that have just been created and are crowd favourites from the past are delighting bus loads of visitors from all over North America.

Thank you to Lara Carrigan for

taking on the task of overseeing the creation and disbursing of the scarecrows.  This job takes hours and hours of work and everyone in the community should thank her for her work.

She also took on the job of Media Liason and organized the Children's Activities.

That is a lot of time so we thank her young family and husband for their patience and support.
