We Have Some Exciting New Events this year…

 

Make your way to Mahone Bay for the 18th annual Scarecrow Festival and Antique Fair where a fun-filled family weekend awaits your arrival…

 

KIDS EVENTS

With a focus on kids and families again this year join us for fun kids activities on Saturday and Sunday afternoon featuring live entertainment, music and crafts and a special scarecrow display with some of your favourite classic Disney characters.

CANDLELIT PUMPKIN PATH – NEW LOCATION IN JUBILLEE PARK

Friday October 3rd  and Saturday October 4th from 7 – 9pm

This is one of the highlights of the weekend! Hundreds of hand-carved pumpkins will light up the night as you stroll along our lovely pumpkin path. You can join in the fun and enter the community pumpkin-carving contest with cash and prizes awarded in several categories. Check back for contest rules and entry forms. Sip on hot apple cider on sale by Atlantica Hotel & Marina, Oak Island with proceeds going to the festival. Enjoy live music on Friday and Saturday night.

ANTIQUE SHOW

Shopping for antiques is a passion loved by both young and old and you are sure to find a unique treasure at the show. From decorative items to sought after collectibles and rare antiques, our 3 halls showcase the very best antiques in the Atlantic Provinces. The three venues are the Anglican Church Hall, the Legion Hall, and the Mahone Bay Centre. Friday 10-6pm, Saturday 10-6pm and Sunday 11:30-4pm. An entry fee of $5 per person gets you into all three halls.

SPECIAL NEW ANTIQUE SHOW EVENTS ON SUNDAY AFTERNOON

 “Antiques Roadshow” 1-3 pm Sunday October 5th at the Mahone Bay Center

We are thrilled to host our very own Antiques Roadshow with Wayne Cameron of Cameron’s Fine Art and Antiques in Chester. Mr. Cameron has 35 years experience in buying, selling and appraising antiques and fine art. He specializes in Canadian, European and American fine art and antiques from the 16th to 20th centuries. He is full member of the Canadian Association of Personal Property Appraisers and has been involved in numerous “Antiques Roadshows” over the past 10 years. Bring your favourite antique or collectible to the show and Mr. Cameron will take a look at it. That garage sale item may be worth a lot of money!

 

On Sunday while at the Anglican Church Hall and the Mahone Bay Legion you can enter our contest to win a $100 dollar gift certificate from the dealer of your choice. Must be present to win.

 

HISTORIC GRAVEYARD TOURS

Historic Graveyard Tours: Tour historic Bayview Cemetery with local

know it all Bob Sayer. Learn about the history of Mahone Bay through the

pioneering lives of our settlers and discover your “founding family”

ancestor amongst the Hysons, Ernsts and Slaunwhites. Tour lasts about 40

minutes and cost $5 per person. Meet at the Visitor's Information Centre.

The Lions Club will be hosting a BBQ at the Irving Station on Main St. during the weekend, be sure to drop by.

 

Moncton Corvette Car Show: Watch for these beauties as they cruise into town, then stop by the Government Wharf to admire them at your leisure. Schedule to follow.

Antique FairMake sure to attend the Antique Fair this year to enjoy three halls brimming with antiques from the most respected dealers from Nova Scotia and beyond. Just $3 per person gets you into all three halls. Venues: Anglican Church Hall, Legion Hall, and the Mahone Bay Centre  Friday, Sept 28, 1:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.; Saturday, Sept 29, 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.; Sunday, Sept 30, 11:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
