Enjoy the warmth and hospitality of our Third Annual Father Christmas Festival.

Hop on the horse-drawn Mahone Bay transit, as it makes the shopping circuit. Shops filled with antiques, crafts and gifts will be festooned for the season. Our streets will be filled with music - its starting to feel a lot like Christmas in Mahone Bay!

Larger than Life Christmas Figures

Showcased throughout the town will be over 60 larger than life Father Christmas’ characters. Each figure has been lovingly designed, stitched, hand painted & dressed in festive finery by volunteer artists and business owners.

Win over $1000 of your favourite gifts

WIN YOUR WISH LIST- Over $1000 of wonderful gifts!

Again this year, we are offering an opportunity to win every item on your list for you and those you like to remember at this time of year. Take time to visit the retailers listed on the Wish List and follow the rules to validate your ballot. Remember you must take time to browse through at least 5 of our establishments and list items you’d like to have (not "gift certificate").

Ballots can be picked up at participating retailers, look for a sign in their window.

Horse Drawn Transit

Horse drawn transit- All aboard the ‘Mahone Bay Transit’. Have fun and experience what it was like for our ancestors as you board the horse drawn ‘Mahone Bay Transit’ through the town taking in the festively decorated houses and stores and of course the many Father Christmas figures. With five stops (pick up a Festival guide with map at the Visitor Information Centre) it a great way to park and ride around the town for shopping!

Children, under 12 yrs. ride free, but must be accompanied by an adult - $2 with a day stamp.

Saturdays & Sundays 25th- 26th Nov & 2nd-3rd Dec from 12am until 4pm

Music Concerts & Choirs

Music, Concerts & Choirs- The streets of Mahone Bay will be filled with singing during both weekends of our Father Christmas Festival. Not only will there be carollers, singing mice and wandering minstrels but some wonderful musical concert s.

Wine tasting, food & lunches

Food & Wine to taste at the Yuletide Gourmet Market

Come for the food, you won’t be disappointed! The Barn at Suttles & Seawind is the delightful setting for our ‘Yuletide Gourmet Market’. You will experience some wonderful tastes and smells as you admire the gourmet food & drink- there will be lots available for you to not only to try but to take home as well.

Breads, croissants, Christmas sweets, hor d’oevres, pates, terrines, local wines, vinegars, jams, jellies, preserves, smoked fish, local cheese, cranberries, truffles, fine chocolates, Christmas puddings & medicinal mushrooms are some of the delights to sample!
