The Great Scarecrow Festival & Antique Fair

October 3 - 5, 2008

Embrace all that autumn has to offer and join us in Mahone Bay for our famous fall festival - now in its 12th year!

Scary, Scary Night!

Come listen to & share some scary stories at The Biscuit Eater Cafe & Books on Orchard Street.   Saturday at 7:00 to 9:00 p.m.  (Suitable for ages 16 and up.)  For more info call 624-2665.

Magical Pumpkin Path

Over a 100 handcarved, lighted pumpkins!  Listen to a cappella singer Belinda Wilneff's Celtic and Folk songs as you and she stroll along the path.   Hot cider will be on sale near the United Church parking lot.  Viewing is on Friday and Saturday from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m.  Pumpkins are available for sale on site, Saturday at 9:00 p.m. and on Sunday at Jo-Ann's Market.

The Great Scarecrow Challenge
Residents and businesses alike take part in The Great Scarecrow Challenge.  Scarecrow artistry acknowledgements will be delivered on Sunday.

The Antique Fair
A wide range & unique selection of treasures from the most respected dealers anywhere. Admission is just $2/person for all three halls.
Venues: The Legion Hall, the Fire Hall & the Anglican Church Hall
Friday 1:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.
Saturday 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.
Sunday 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Quilt Jamboree at Suttles & Seawinds

Enjoy the music and fun while you learn how to quilt from the Mahone Bay Quilter's Guild Members.  Stitch a spell - will your stiches be toenail catchers?  Saturday & Sunday from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.

Scarecrow Cruise Antique Car Show

Bigger and better than ever!  Watch for these golden oldies as they stream into town, then drop down to the Mahone Bay Civic Marina (a.k.a. Government Wharf) to admire them at your lesuire.  Sunday 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.

Scarecrow Wine Festival

Bluegrass and Country music, wine tasting and u-pick blueberries at Lunenburg County Winery in Newburne on Saturday from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.

Stuff for Kids

There will be losts great games and fun activities with something for every age and interest.  Saturday & Sunday from Noon to 4:00 pm at the Bandstand weather permitting.  Sponsored by Habitat for Humanity Volunteers.  25 cents will be charged for the games.
