Pain has an element of blank, it cannot recollect when it
began or a day when it was not!

Emily Dickinson

When you experience injury and pain it is not uncommon to feel that you will never be well again! It is almost as if to avoid more discomfort your body convinces you that this is normal and goes into protective mode to try to minimize the pain you are experiencing. Unfortunately this can be the very worst thing for you as you quickly set up a new pattern of movement, guarding against further discomfort as you compensate for your injury or restriction, often causing a whole new set of problems as your body works contrary to it’s natural pattern.

That’s why here at Dragonfly Release we are passionate about working with you to provide a range of holistic therapies and tailored retreats, including massage, Reiki and creative activities and workshops, to help you restore and maintain your body’s natural balance, enabling your mind and body to heal themselves.

I am an intuitive therapist and Reiki Master/Teacher who believes in helping you find healing and renewed enjoyment of your daily activities, whatever they might be.

Originally from the UK, with a lifelong interest in helping others I began a second career in Massage Therapy, graduating from the Canadian College of Massage and Hydrotherapy (CCMH), here in Nova Scotia in 2010, and undertaking a further Diploma in Reflexology shortly after graduating. I worked in several spas, and clinics across the province including the five-star Fox Harb’r Golf Resort & Spa before focusing exclusively on my own practice here in Mahone Bay.

I continue to update my knowledge, taking additional training in Cupping Therapy, Craniosacral Therapy, Sports Massage and Rehabilitative Stretching, while also including Myofascial and Trigger Point Therapy in my treatment approach to better understand the body’s biomechanics and how best to promote healing.

Within my practice, I focus on patient’s posture and structural alignment to promote pain relief, I am happy to explain the anatomy and physiology of the body to ensure patients understand the treatment process and that these are in line with their wellness goals.

I have also continued to develop my love of teaching, gained as a Reiki Master/Teacher and massage therapy instructor, developing several courses for both massage therapists and the general public.

I am available for wellness based talks and demonstrations at your events.
