Frauke Wenzel and partner Mike relocated from Vancouver and reopened this 120+-year-old farmhouse as a B&B in 2017.
Three modern suites with ensuite baths (one a family two-bedroom) on 10 acres along the Martins River. 32 solar panels on the barn roof power much of the property. Resident pets Charlie (dog) and Max (cat).

Amazing stay at River Ridge Lodge. Would highly recommend as a more quiet and peaceful option to those in Lunenburg, but still just a short drive away. The hosts greeted us with smiles and all the information we could need for the area and for a smooth stay. Rooms are spacious, clean, and comfortable. Would definitely book again if back in the area. Great quiet property tucked away with close access to the river. Forgot my charger there and was very easy to arrange for pick-up at a later date. Owner's could not possibly be any more kind and accommodating! Charlie is ADORABLE as well!

We had a wonderful stay at River Ridge Lodge for our Nova Scotia vacation! Frauke was incredibly helpful in providing wonderful recommendations for where to visit, explore, and eat. She was very accommodating of us traveling with a toddler. She waited up for us to arrive despite a later than planned arrival and delivered coffee to the room to wake up to on our first morning. The property was beautiful, and we loved how close it was to the quaint town of Mahone Bay. We would highly recommend staying here for a peaceful getaway!

We spent 2 nights at River Ridge Lodge as a gift from our children for our 50th wedding anniversary. What a perfect choice. The totally restored home is beautiful and you can feel the owners pride with what they have accomplished. The room was very spacious, the bathroom very well appointed. Our breakfast served by Frauke, the owner, was delicious. Would highly recommend this Lodge to stay at while exploring the Mahone Bay area. We did not use the bicycles, but Frauke had made arrangements for us to take a half-day sail with Sail and See, as well as dinner arrangements at the Old Black Forest Restaurant. Everything was just perfection. Thank you Frauke for making our stay so enjoyable.
