Our nature isn't all about the sea! Experience the great outdoors walking, running, or biking along 100 miles of trails in the woodsy splendour of the Rails to Trails network or stay in town and meander through the Jubilee Park Woods. Bikes are available for rent at Sweet Ride Cycling.

Discover our accomplished and diverse local artisans and if you fancy getting creative yourself, you'll love watching the hands-on design and manufacturing process at Amos Pewter's economuseum where you can finish and personalize your own pewter sand dollar!

We’re famous for our festivals and fun events. In July, don’t miss the Home and Garden Tour where you’ll have the rare chance to peek inside some of those stately homes you’ve been ogling. In August, take in some history and craft on the Heritage Boatyard Co-op Weekend to learn about the rich wooden-boat industry that Mahone Bay was built on. And in September, you'll find the most extensive and creative collection of scarecrows you’ve ever seen! You might even recognize one!

Landscapes, seascapes, and streetscapes — Mahone Bay is a photographer's dream! The bay is a bounty of all good things that happen on the water and the Three Churches along Edgewater Street are among the most photographed views in Canada. Bring your camera and explore some of Canada's most scenic views — there's never a bad angle.

The craft beer industry is "hopping" and we have one of the best! The Saltbox Brewing Company has created some delicious varieties of ale, lager, and stout with names that you'll remember the morning after. Or, if variety is your spice of life, the Mug and Anchor pub has 24 beers on tap!

    "Sea" the sand

Sandcastles, sand dollars and sea glass are the treasures we never seem to run out of. And they're free! Mahone Bay makes a perfect base to explore the incomparable beaches dotting the coastline. For an easy, relaxing day, try Westhavers or Bachmans; for wave-crashing fun, head for Hirtle's or Rissers. You can never have enough beach time.
